About

Owen was appointed as a Consultant Physician and Geriatrician at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust in 2019. He is currently the Frailty lead at the trust and he has been influential in the development of the Acute Frailty services in West Kent. He is passionate about offering high quality care for older people and believes this can be best achieved by improving medical education in Elderly Medicine for both medical students and doctors in training.

Research interests

Owen's main research interests are around innovative educational projects and quality improvement work related to Geriatric Medicine. He has undertaken numerous national and international presentations for his work and has had case reports and quality improvement work published in peer reviewed journals.

Teaching

Owen has been actively involved in Medical Education since he qualified as a doctor. He is currently the Elderly Medicine Undergraduate Lead at MTW and was previously the Physician's Associate Tutor at MTW. As a Specialist Registrar Owen worked as a Clinical Lecturer in Geriatric Medicine at St George's University London undertaking many Educational responsibilities. He completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare and Biomedical education while working at St George's. Owen also has an interest in Interprofessional Education and has worked on a number educational projects with colleagues from many disciplines in healthcare.
