Research interests
Dr Gashi has a keen interest in undergraduate as well as postgraduate medical education. His recent thesis at The University of Cambridge focused on exploring the desirability and feasibility of smartphone Apps that contributes to the professional development of doctors in Emergency Medicine. He also has an avid interest in patient-doctor communication and all the elements that then impact on their professional relationship.
Teaching
Dr Gashi's interest in Medical Education started during his undergraduate medical studies. As the President of the Southampton GP Society he thoroughly enjoyed organising and hosting informal OSCEs, career talks and educational events for his fellow medical students. He then attended a course on "Tomorrow's Teachers" hosted by HEE Wessex Deanery when he was an FY1; this cemented his interest in this field. He then continued organising bedside teaching sessions for his colleagues and medical students during his years as a junior doctor until he undertook a more formal role in 2016 as a Lecturer on the MSc PA degree at the Canterbury Christ Church University. Dr Gashi then matriculated at the University of Cambridge in 2020 where he read Medical Education at a Masters level.
