Kurian George is the Research Administrative Coordinator at Kent and Medway Medical School, supporting research activities and providing administrative oversight to ensure the smooth delivery of projects and compliance with university and funder policies. With over 30 years of experience in education, leadership, and university administration, Kurian brings a wealth of expertise in data management, financial coordination, and stakeholder engagement. Previously a Finance Coordinator at the University of Kent, he has managed complex financial systems and provided high-level support to academic and professional services teams. His background includes senior leadership roles in international schools, where he led curriculum development, accreditation processes, and staff training initiatives. Kurian holds an MBA and UK Qualified Teacher Status, and is committed to promoting excellence, inclusivity, and transformative experiences within higher education.

Teaching

Kurian George has over three decades of experience in teaching and educational leadership across the UK and international contexts. His teaching interests lie primarily in Mathematics, Physics, and Science education, with specialisms in curriculum development, differentiated teaching, and the integration of technology to enhance learning. He has taught at secondary and sixth-form levels, delivering IGCSE, A-Level, and IB Diploma Programme Mathematics, Mechanics, and Statistics, as well as undergraduate preparatory courses in Mathematics for international students at University College London. Kurian’s expertise extends to teacher training and professional development, having led workshops and initiatives on Outcomes-Based Education (OBE), cognitive coaching, and the use of interactive technologies in classrooms. His work as an IB Coordinator included oversight of program implementation and quality assurance, supporting staff in adopting student-centred approaches and interdisciplinary learning. He has also contributed to accreditation processes with CIS, IB, and NEASC, ensuring alignment with global education standards. Kurian is passionate about fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments and helping students from diverse backgrounds achieve academic success. His interest in data-driven teaching practices has informed his leadership in tracking student progress and developing strategies to close achievement gaps.
