Clinical/Academic Chairs (Professors)

Endowed Chairs are crucial to the task of attracting and retaining an exceptional faculty. They are powerful fuel for the overall mission of the Kent and Medway Medical School. Such support has the ability to attract renowned teachers and clinicians and augment the research of top scientists.

Philanthropic support is crucial to our vision to endow teaching and research professorships. Through these positions, we will reward, protect and inspire those who have a passion for teaching, communication, the generosity to share themselves with our students and the skill to excite others to go beyond the basics. By supporting the establishment of a KMMS Endowed Chair in perpetuity, or a KMMS Clinical/Academic Chair for five years, you are becoming part of the permanent fabric of this institution, providing our most gifted and prolific clinician-scientists with a reservoir of support for their work during the most productive period of their distinguished careers. KMMS initially offers the following endowed faculty positions:

  • Chair in Mental Health
  • Chair in Complex and Chronic Healthcare
  • Chair in Primary and Community Care
  • Chair in Medical Humanities
  • Chair in Digitally Enhanced Medicine
  • Chair in Oncology, Cancer Medicine or Palliative Care
  • Chair in Medicine or Surgery

For donors, a chair presents an opportunity to leave a legacy at KMMS, whilst honouring an outstanding medical professional for his or her accomplishments.
