KMMS is delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Dr Tim Collins, Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Medical Education and Programme Director for the MSc/iMSc/PgCert in Clinical Education, who has been awarded Fellowship of the Academy of Medical Educators (AoME), a prestigious national honour recognising excellence and leadership in medical education.
The Fellowship is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated significant, sustained contributions to the advancement of medical education. For Dr Tim Collins, this recognition highlights his extensive work in delivering high‑level professional development, advancing educational scholarship, and shaping clinical education for healthcare professionals across the UK and internationally.
Reflecting on the honour, Dr Collins shared:
The AoME exists to provide leadership, promote standards, and support all those involved in the academic discipline and practice of medical education. I am very proud to have had my expertise and professional practice acknowledged by the Academy.
This Fellowship required external peer review and validation of my educational scholarship, recognising that I have demonstrated significant craft and knowledge in medical education and leadership. I am both pleased and humbled by this external validation.
As Programme Director for the PgCert in Clinical Education, accredited by the AoME, I actively encourage and mentor colleagues to pursue membership. Students who complete the PgCert gain automatic AoME membership, and I successfully led and authored the accreditation submission that enables this.
Applications are now open for the MSc/Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education, for September 2026 entry.
KMMS extends its warmest congratulations to Dr Tim Collins on this well‑deserved honour and looks forward to his continued leadership and impact in medical education.
