Student Suggestions

  • Dear Life (2020) – Rachel Clarke – “Informative and thought provoking book about end of life care” – Year 2 Student
  • Divided (2023) – Annabel Sowemimo – “It’s so crucial to have an understanding of the broader context of the medical field and the medical establishment in the UK. The spirit of this book aligns perfectly with KMMS’s values. I wish the contents of this book would be one day incorporated into our curriculum” – Year 1 Student
  • Human Anatomy: A Very Short Introduction (2015) – “A really nice, gentle intro to anatomy, will help to prepare you for the language of anatomy. Not too heavy so you can still enjoy your last summer of freedom!” – Year 4 Student
  • Out of Sight, Out of Mind (2023) – Kimberley Wilson – “Firstly, the subject of the book – mental health and nutrition are two aspects very easily overlooked by students in conventional medical training. This book is so insightful and informative in pointing out the link between the two topics. Secondly, I think this book aligns well with KMMS’s emphasis on person-centred medicine and a holistic understanding of health and ill health. It also has a public health perspective on how social inequality fuels the mental health crisis through diet and nutrition.” – Year 1 Student
  • War Doctor: Surgery on the Front Line (2019) – David Nott – “An excellent and inspiring book that will get you excited about becoming a doctor” – Year 4 Student
