Year 3 student Abdullah and Year 2 student Alishba recently returned to their former secondary school, Herschel Grammar School, to deliver an alumni talk and a hands‑on workshop showcasing the world of medicine.
Throughout the day, students were fully engaged in interactive demonstrations, including ultrasound scanning and image interpretation exercises to distinguish arteries from veins.

Alishba also led a talk on university life, sharing practical advice on moving away from home and choosing accommodation, including the pros and cons of living independently and what to consider when selecting the right place to live.
Reflecting on the experience, Alishba said:
“It was a bit strange going back to sixth form as it seemed like nothing had physically changed about the place, but I myself have changed so much in the year and a bit I’ve spent at KMMS. It felt like I had gone back in time and was a sixth former again. It made me reflect on the journey to get to medical school by seeing myself in the Year 12s and 13s being in a position I was a few years ago.”

Well done to Abdullah and Alishba for inspiring the next generation of future doctors.
