Dr Parkin is currently the Vertical Theme Lead for Scholarship and Scientific Enquiry, Academic Lead for Student Choice (SSC’s, Student Research Projects and Electives) and Editor-in-Chief of the Advanced Journal for Professional Practice. She was former Director of Graduate Studies and Director of Research at the University of Kent, as well as Research Fellow in the Faculty of Health at Canterbury Christ Church University. Claire is experienced in programme management, approval and delivery, as well as convening of undergraduate and postgraduate modules. She is experienced in all forms of assessment, programme evaluation and reporting and in chairing Board of Examiners and various boards of studies. Claire was a former programme director for several postgraduate programmes. She has acted as research fellow, lecturer and research consultant over many years and is well versed in leading the planning, execution, funding and dissemination of clinical research projects, providing national and international education programmes and as supervisor and advisor to clinical staff and degree and postgraduate students. Claire has a clinical background in Critical Care and a specialist interest in Medical Education, as well as PhD in Biomedical Engineering.
