Gemma Harris

About

Gemma joined KMMS in February 2019, working as PA to the Dean, Professor Chris Holland. Having taken on more responsibilities, Gemma moved on to become the KMMS Operations Manager. She manages the KMMS Operations Team, providing administrative and operational support across the breadth of the School activities. She has a background in student support, previously working as Assistant to the Master of Keynes College within Student Services at the University of Kent. This role encompassed student welfare, discipline and community activities, including establishing a successful ongoing arts exhibition series.

Gemma studied Comparative Literature as a mature student at the University of Kent’s Medway and Canterbury campuses. Before taking up her studies, she worked as a children’s bookseller at Ottakar’s and Waterstone’s bookshops in Chatham and Canterbury.

Gemma chose to work at KMMS in particular because of the School’s strong commitment to widening access to medicine and serving the local community.
