About

Melissa Jones is the Head of Anatomy at KMMS, formally a Senior Lecturer. Prior to joining KMMS, Melissa worked as Lecturer in Anatomy at the Barts and London School of Medicine, Queen Mary University of London. In June 2022, Melissa was awarded her PhD from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. Melissa has dedicated her career to studying the human body and is passionate about sharing her knowledge with students.

Research interests

She has published various peer reviewed articles and has presented at international conferences on areas of medical education and human anatomy. Her research interests include biological anthropology and human variation as well as teaching human anatomy in medical education.

Teaching

Melissa has developed and taught courses to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students as well as allied health professionals. She enjoys leading laboratory sessions and dissections, providing hands-on instruction to students. She strives to develop innovative teaching methods, incorporating technology and multimedia to enhance student learning.
