About
Olive grew up in Woodford Green and graduated from the local puppy school with flying colours. After a further year of training classes, she passed a rigorous assessment by the organisation “Pets as Therapy” . She had no idea back then that she would be the UK’s first clinical academic wellbeing dog.
Research interests
Olive takes part in both qualitative and quantitative research. Her main skills are in assessing the quality of different types of dog treats and how many of each to eat at a time.
Professional
Olive’s first role was in the Havering older adult mental health team. Her responsibilities there included individual and group wellbeing work, guarding the photocopier against potential saboteurs and reducing food waste at lunchtime. Her other key skills include ball-fetching, snack location/identification, tail wags and high fives. She enjoys meeting students (who are awesome) and staff (who are awesome), although often wonders if they really understand what she’s saying.
