An Honorary Doctor of the University of Kent, Richard is the Chairman of Oldfield Partners LLP, an investment management firm. A former Vice Lord Lieutenant of Kent, Richard has been a supporter of the University of Kent’s music and law campaigns, is a Kent Ambassador and has chaired the Appeal Committee for Canterbury Cathedral Trust. He is President of Demelza House Children’s Hospice and is a Trustee of the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, The Prince’s Trust and the Clore Duffield Foundation. He was awarded an OBE in 2019 for his services to the Cathedral Appeal and charity.
