INTERACT showcase event at the Turner Contemporary

A special INTERACT showcase event on the future of mental healthcare, including a roundtable discussion, will be hosted at the Turner Contemporary in Margate, Friday 19 April 2024.

The INTERACT research project, an interdisciplinary research project led by Professor Lisa Dikomitis, Director of Research at Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS) and Director of the Centre for Health Services Studies. It works with community members to imagine the future of mental healthcare. The project aims to better understand the mental health needs of local, underprivileged communities.

INTERACT is a partnership between the Centre for Health Services Studies, Centre for Health and Medical Humanities and KMMS, with key collaborators the Kent-wide community mental health trust, Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT), and internationally renowned gallery, the Turner Contemporary.

The event will feature presentations from mental healthcare specialists in Kent, creative work, with the roundtable discussion including contributions from psychiatrists and mental health researchers.

The showcase is open to community members, researchers, mental healthcare professionals and postgraduate students. It will be held in the Foyle rooms at the Turner Contemporary, from 1pm until 4pm.

It is free to attend but registration is required. Registration is currently open online.
