Accommodation

As a first-year medical student, you will be able to choose to live in accommodation provided by either the University of Kent or Canterbury Christ Church University.

Both universities offer a wide range of high-quality accommodation options to suit all budgets including ensuite bedrooms and specially adapted rooms, in modern well-furnished, self-catering flats, close to campuses, amenities and facilities. All utility bills, high speed Wi-Fi and contents insurance are included in the rent, and 24-hour security service and on-site laundry facilities are available.

To guarantee accommodation in your first year, applications for accommodation must be received by 31 July 2024, but late applications will be considered depending on availability. Offers of accommodation are sent once all course conditions have been met and unconditional places have been confirmed.

If you are holding an offer and would like to apply for accommodation, please visit our dedicated application form.

From your second year onwards, there are a limited number of campus rooms available, or you can choose from a wide range of private sector houses and flats, including purpose-built student accommodation, in Canterbury and the local area. Accommodation while students are on placements is also available.

For more details about the KMMS accommodation offer at both universities, including pricing, please visit their dedicated pages but please note you will need to use the dedicated KMMS accommodation application form to ensure you are co-located with other KMMS students and have the correct contract length as the KMMS academic year is longer than the standard academic year.
